TAYRONA, COLOMBIA
Happy Friday! It's Jeff and this week I'm taking you to an unknown coastal paradise in Colombia. I first stumbled on this national park by accident and ended up staying a week.
But first: these are the top hot air balloon spots on earth?
Beach, Jungle, Repeat
What Is It: Tayrona National Park is Colombia’s slice of jungle-meets-beach paradise on the Caribbean coast. You're in store for turquoise waters, golden sand, and lush forest trails. If you're lucky, you can even spot a jaguar.
Why It’s Special: You get wild, untouched nature—plus some of the most beautiful beaches in South America. Here's a great guide.
Where Is It: Just outside Santa Marta on Colombia’s northern coast. An easy bus or taxi ride will get you to the park entrance. You can normally find round trip flights to Colombia for under $500.
Best Time to Go: December to March is dry season and your best bet for sunny days.

Top Things to Do
Swim and chill at Cabo San Juan beach
Snorkel at La Piscina (calm, clear water)
Explore jungle paths filled with howler monkeys and exotic birds
Visit the sacred site of Pueblito if you’re up for a hike
My Favorite Hike: The El Zaino to Cabo San Juan trek is 2-3 hours of scenic beaches and jungle paths. Bring your bathing suit!
What To Eat: You have to try the local arepas with cheese or coconut rice with fish at small food huts inside the park.
Local Culture: The park is sacred to the Indigenous Kogi people so make sure to respect signs and avoid off-limits areas.
And there you have it! I'll be back next week with another secret destination.
And as always, reply to this email and send me those suggestions!
See you out there - Jeff
