UNDERWATER HOTELS
Happy Friday! It's Jeff and this week we're sleeping beneath the sea at some of the most whimsical hotels on earth.
But first: would you eat these Cambodian fried tarantulas?
Sleephing With The Fishes
Ever dreamed of falling asleep with fish swimming past your window? These underwater hotels make that dream a reality. Here's a quick guide to some of the most unforgettable places you can spend the night under the sea.
Conrad Rangali Island, Maldives
This is the ultimate underwater stay. The Muraka is a two-level villa where the master bedroom sits 16 feet below the ocean, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking straight into the reef. You get your own butler, a private infinity pool, and jet skis. It's luxury to the extreme — and yeah, it comes with a serious price tag.
Where it is: Rangali Island, Maldives
What makes it special: It’s like a private aquarium, but you're inside it.
How much: $9,999 a night
Utter Inn, Sweden
This one's a little different — and super charming. It looks like a tiny red cabin floating on a lake in Sweden, but once you climb down the ladder, you’ll find a small underwater bedroom with windows into the lake. It’s quiet, weird, and oddly peaceful. Think of it as part hotel, part art installation.
Where it is: Lake Mälaren, Västerås, Sweden
What makes it special: Totally off-the-grid and cozy — you’ll feel like you’re in your own little world.
How much: $300–400 a night
Reefsuites, Australia
Want to sleep on the Great Barrier Reef? This is the place. Reefsuites is Australia’s first underwater hotel, with rooms built under a floating pontoon right on the reef. You’ll see everything from sea turtles to giant fish from your bed. The package includes boat transfers, meals, and snorkeling or scuba diving.
Where it is: Hardy Reef, Australia
What makes it special: You’re literally sleeping inside one of the natural wonders of the world.
How much: $1,200–1,600 a night
Well there you have it! I'll see you next week with another secret destination.
See you out there - Jeff
