OHRID, NORTH MACEDONIA
Happy Friday! It's Jeff and this week we're heading to one of my favorite budget destinations in Europe, where $20 airbnbs and $4 meals still exist.
Beach On A Budget
Why you should go: Lake Ohrid is one of Europe’s oldest and deepest lakes. It’s a blend of cobbled streets, cliffside churches, and a fun nightlife scene that will surprise you. Check out this helpful guide.
Tell me more: You'll get some of the best beachside deals in all of Europe here without the hoards of tourists.
Where is it: It's located in North Macedonia, about a 3-hour drive or bus ride from the capital, Skopje. Here's where it is on a map.
Best time to visit: June through early September is perfect for swimming, boating, and lakeside cocktails.

My favorite things to do:
Visit Church of St. John at Kaneo for those postcard views over the lake.
Wander the old town of Ohrid—it's full of cozy cafes, street performers, and ancient ruins.
Swim or kayak from Gradiste Beach, a low-key party spot with music and camping.
Catch sunset from Samuel’s Fortress with amazing views guaranteed.
Where to hike: I personally love Galičica National Park where you can see both Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa in one hike.
Pro Tip: Bring water shoes—the lake is super clear, but the shoreline can be rocky.
If you're looking for a more low key spot in Europe that won't break the bank, take a look at Lake Ohrid.
As always, thanks for following along and reply with any destinations I should write about in the future.
See you out there - Jeff
